Stahlwandbecken oval teilversenkt sind bei vielen Schwimmbecken sehr beliebt. They are easy to install, affordable and can be used immediately. The advantages are obvious: The installation process is much faster than with a beton pool and the maintenance costs are significantly lower. A stahlwandpool is also more resistant to algae, fungi and bacteria than other pools. This is because the surface of a steel-based pool is not smooth, but has a special rough coating which makes it extremely water-repellent. In addition, the structure of a steel-based pool is extremely stable and therefore has a long service life.
When selecting the right stahlwandpool, it is important to consider how deep it needs to be in the ground and whether you want a complete or a partial versenkt. This depends on the pool’s size and form, e.g. a large, oval swimming pool must be fully lowered in the ground whereas a smaller, round pool can be left completely free standing.
The choice of the type of pool is also dependent on the location. For example, a pool in an urban environment is surrounded by houses and may require a full versenkt in order to fit into the existing property. A pool in a rural environment, on the other hand, is less likely to be affected by surrounding buildings or trees and therefore can be left entirely free-standing.
In addition to the standard set, it is possible to upgrade an existing Stahlwandbecken with a variety of optional components such as a skimmer and einlaufduse or a sand filter system. The set includes an innovative, elegant 17,5 cm wide handlauf and a high-quality poolfolie made of a waterproof, UV-stabilised PVC. The lining is extremely durable, reissfest and has a winterproof core. It is a high quality product, which guarantees an optimal seal of the surface and offers the best protection against algae.
A further optional component is an insulator plate made of extruded polystyrol (XPS), which protects the pool from heat loss and improves its energy efficiency. This is an especially effective method of preventing the formation of ice in winter. This is a significant problem for beton pools, which in many cases require an extra magerbetonfullung to reduce the amount of water needed to melt the ice. In this case, the insulator is positioned between the beton layer and the inner wall of the pool, where it acts as a thermal barrier. This is a great way to save money, especially as the insulator can be easily removed again in summer for cleaning or when changing the pool lining. For this reason, the insulator is also particularly suitable for repairing old pool structures.
